According to Arizona governor Jan Brewer, the State of Arizona is facing its "the worst financial days ever."  The state is up against a $1.5 billion defecit this year, and is expected to face a $3.4 billion shortfall over the next fiscal year.  Arizona state lawmakers passed a new bill recently which cuts about $193 million from the state budget, mostly cutting state salaries and benefits.

Says Gov. Brewer: "We face a state fiscal crisis of unparalleled dimension, one that is going to sweep over every single person in this room, as well as every business, every family, every Arizonan."
