Borders Inc. wants sale complete by end of July

Borders Group Inc. is hoping that their remaining assets will be sold, in order to keep the company in business, by the end of July.

During their bankruptcy court filing, the company stated that it hopes to find a bidder by July 1 so that an auction can be held. This schedule has the sale complete by July 29. If a bidder is not found, Borders will ahve to sell itself to liquidators.

This schedule allows for stores that are designated to close, remain open. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy claiming that it was due to he increasing competition.
