Can student loan debt be discharged?

by Administrator 4. December 2009 01:55

When individuals file for bankruptcy, some may have student loan dent. In most cases, this debt cannot be dishcarged in bankruptcy filings.

While many types of debt obligations can be discharged in a bankruptcy filing, student loan debt often is discharged, but the debt obligations might be delayed by a bankruptcy judge.

Also, if the bankruptcy filer is under substantial financial hardship, then the bankruptcy court may discharge the student loan debt.
