The construction being done on the flyover of MoPac and Highway 290 in Austin has been halted after the construction company being contracted left the job.

A new company now must be found in order to finish the job and it is the responsibility of the bonding company to find the replacement. The contractor, Wiser Construction, is based out of Las Vegas, Nevada has declared bankruptcy and left the site.

Officials with the Texas Department of Transportation stated that the company must have realized that they were in over their heads. The project was supposed to be completed by December 2011, but now will probably not be done until the beginning of 2012.
