Yavapai Downs operators have filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection on Wednesday.
This bankruptcy filing is only two months after the Arizona racetrack cancelled thier live meeting because of the financial stress that was on the non-profit Yavapai County Farm and Agriculture Association.
The organization cited that they filed for bankruptcy protection because they were facing "overwhelming financial pressures" due to hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt to partners of Yavapai downs. Officials in the organization are saddened by the filing, but hope that this will help them revitalize the property. The organization cancelled their 56 day meeting just days before it was supposed to being.
