The owner of Danny's Car Wash and founder of Danny's Family Company has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

The man filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection from creditors in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the District of Arizona on July 25. The filings show $317 million in debt, with one of the largest creditors being the state of Arizona.

According to state laws, individuals can be held personally liable for certain corporate obligations if certain guidelines are not followed. The filings also showed nearly $118 million in other business debts. The filer's personal debt totals $10.5 million and includes the equity of two homes.
